EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES
Too many laws–too little time for oversight!
The challenges of managing complicated and complex employment issues can be overwhelming. |
There is no question that the explosion of
employment laws is paralyzing the workplace
and the managers who try to comply with them.
Many managers feel they need a sophisticated
GPS system just to maintain the agency's personnel system,
let alone be proactive.
Linda can help you plot the best course.... She has spent her entire career
helping employers unravel the intricacies of employment laws and develop
strategies and implementation paths that resolve employment issues, particularly
those involving multiple claims. Linda's extensive experience can assist
managers in resolving those "multiple claims" situations, such as when an
employee who files a harassment claim has also received a poor performance
review and a disciplinary reprimand, and may eventually file a workers'
compensation stress claim, a claim for leave under the FMLA or CFRA, and/or a
claim of retaliation because of treatment allegedly received after these claims
were filed.
Linda’s experience includes:
- Providing advice and representation regarding discrimination, harassment,
retaliation, and/or disability accommodation issues before the Department
of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) and the Equal Employment
Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and preparing the employer's response
to such claims
- Providing investigation and assessment of multiple, related employment
claims and developing an all-inclusive settlement
- Representing employers before the California Public Employees'
Retirement System (CalPERS)
- Representing employers in administrative and court-litigated
matters involving wrongful discharge, violation of civil rights and retaliation
